Broken Heart

A year ago today my heart broke forever.

You took a piece of me,
a piece of all of us,
with you.

Nothing time will ever heal
Instead, a lesson of how it will be from now on

They say to remember the good times
I’ll tell you what I do remember,
I remember how you used to say…..

“This is fuckin bullshit!”

You were our steel magnolia.
So strong.
Courageous.

But every beautiful flower eventually dies.

We will fight ’til the end, like you showed us how.
And as we do,
we will continue to miss you each and every day.

Love Buzz

Original artwork - ink on paper by Diane Kitanoski - King and Queen of Hearts

“Would you believe me when I tell you, you are the Queen of my heart?” *

Love is like a game of cards.

Snap to be precise.

When two cards match you snap your hand down on the cards to take the winnings.

So when you have enough in common with someone in real life, do you snap them up?

Are they your perfect match or does it just look that way from the outside?

You gotta play in order to have a chance to meet your Prince……King!

(as Solitaire is only a game for one.)

But be sure to shuffle the cards well, for you might end up with the Joker.

How to do that

How does one become a world renowned fashion designer, everyone knows by name?

Jean Paul Gaultier shows us “Aow Tou Dou Zat!”

image image

Recently having exhibited at Melbourne’s National Gallery of Victoria.  Jean Paul Gaultier brought us “From the sidewalk to the catwalk.”  Filled with fashion, photography, film and art, quotes from Madonna to Andy Warhol, and talking mannequins, it was a theatrical event indeed.  Even JPG’s teddy bear from his childhood made the long trip over from Paris.

               image  image

Another childhood inspiration was his grandmother that would tell him inspiring tales to which he said, “That was all food for my imagination.”

           image  image

A young boy with such an imagination could be thought of as somewhat girly.  A life changing moment occurred when one day at school, he drew a topless showgirl from a program he’d watched on a Folies Bergere Revue.  He had gotten in trouble from his teacher by doing so, but it was a blessing in disguise. “I was no longer the sissy who didn’t play soccer.”

Jean Paul Gaultier brought us sailor stripes, corset style dresses and the cone bra, pushing boundaries in fashion when it came to traditional roles of men and women, using model of all shapes & sizes, tattooed and pierced, men’s skirts and bondage inspired fashion.  We look forward to seeing what this unconventional designer brings us next!

“I think the way people dress today is a form of artistic expression…….Art lies in the way the whole outfit is put together.  Take Jean Paul Gaultier.  What he does is really art.” – Andy Warhol, 1984

Merci beacoup Monsieur Gaultier for bringing your world to ours, we bid you Bon-Voyage for now and wish you Bonne Chance with the rest of your tour.

Very Superstitious

Friday the 13th is very superstitious.

image

A long, long time ago my Mum went into labour with her first baby. Her doctor induced her labour as he didn’t want her baby to be born on Friday 13th.

So I was born on Thursday the 12th.

So what is the big deal with superstition? Am I a better person because I wasn’t cursed by being born on this day of supposed bad luck? My friend calls herself a freak; maybe her birth on Halloween really did play a part. And is someone born on Valentine’s Day more loving than the rest of us?

Some of us believe in superstitions and others don’t.   Don’t step on the crack cause you’ll break your Mum’s back. Seven years bad luck when you break a mirror or you open an umbrella indoors. Where did these even come from?

Do you believe it? Is it true? What superstitions do you have?

Wishing everyone the best of luck……..touch wood!
